Robbie Rogers Wows Pride Night Crowd with Goal
It was already a special night in Carson with the LA Galaxy holding their second Pride Night, but Robbie Rogers added to the occasion with his first goal in an LA uniform.
The Galaxy were already up 2-0 over the Portland Timbers within the first 20 minutes of play thanks to a Sebastian Lletget goal and penalty kick converted by Robbie Keane. Then in the 33rd minute, Robbie Rogers takes advantage of space and runs up the left side of the field to receive a pass from Keane and solidly place it in goal.
Robbie Rogers reflected on the goal following the game.
Tonight’s obviously Pride Night so it’s kinda special and I think that’s maybe that’s why I was more emotional cause I knew there were a lot of people that have not been to the stadium before. My family, my boyfriend, his friends, and my other friends. And a lot of people from West Hollywood.
The Pride Night for the Galaxy commenced with a national anthem performance from the Los Angeles Gay Men’s Chorus and a great tifo from the Angel City Brigade. But it’s safe to say that Robbie Rogers’ goal will be the memory all those new fans took home with them.
