New England Revolution Back Transgender Rights Bill
The New England Revolution are announcing their support for a transgender anti-discrimination bill making its way through the Massachusetts legislature.
According to the Boston Globe, they are joining the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics Monday in backing the measure that would ban discrimination in public accommodations like restaurants and shopping malls. Backers of the measure are pushing for passage by a super-majority so it can sustain a possible veto from the commonwealth’s Republican governor.
This past November, a Houston ballot measure passed overturning a city ordinance that included similar protections to those proposed in Massachusetts. The campaign against it was not backed by sports teams, including the Dynamo and Dash.
