TV and Target: Robbie Rogers’ Next Act?
Some new projects from LA Galaxy defender Robbie Rogers may give us a glimpse of what will come after soccer for Major League Soccer’s first out player.
Rogers is one of the faces of Target stores’ new Goodfellow & Co. clothing line and appears in commercials announcing the brand.
Target seems like a good fit for Rogers as a big sponsor of Major League Soccer who has also been supportive of the LGBT community. Rogers also has his own denim line, Hampton + Baker, and explored fashion school as a possibility before joining MLS.
Rogers is also jumping into the family business, serving as producer on fiancee Greg Berlanti’s newest production in development for the CW network. The untitled project is about a football player from South Central Los Angeles. He is recruited to play at a Beverly Hills high school and the drama will cover the culture clash in addition to on the field action.
Robbie Rogers hasn’t been on the field with the Galaxy since the 2016 Playoffs, having faced a season-ending injury this year. We hope to see him back on the field. But if that’s not possible, it’s nice to get a glimpse at what could be coming next for him.
