Joanna Lohman Announces Retirement
Veteran midfielder Joanna Lohman announced her retirement today after a 16-year-long professional career.

Her time in American professional soccer included playing in both Women’s Professional Soccer and the National Women’s Soccer League. Most of the Maryland native’s time was spent playing for teams in the Washington DC area.
Lohman and former partner Lianne Sanderson made history as the only openly LGBT couple in professional sports. She plans to spend her retirement on continued LGBT activism and her recently launched Define Your Beauty project.
